The Catalina 22 is the best selling sailboat of all time...period...full stop. WHY!? Because they are an incredibly perfect first sailboat that performs very well on the water, is easy to sail, and sleeps five or even six people inside with minor modifications adding one berth to a storage area. This fixed fin keel model sails even better than the swing keel version but it rides about a foot higher in the trailer.<br>Catalina 22s can be trailered and launched with ease and the mast can be stepped or un-stepped by a single person.<br>They are amazingly spacious inside, similar to the size of small tow behind camper trailer or pick up truck camper. But unlike a camper they are tough enough for moderate ocean sailing. You can take your Catalina 22 to Canada or Alaska...you can take it to Panama or Florida or Novia Scotia. These are the perfect tool for a family to do camping-sailing-exploring anywhere in the world that has water and a road to tow your boat to. A boat any larger becomes hard to tow with an SUV and harder to launch and step the mast. A smaller boat doesn't have enough room inside to truly be comfortable for weekend or week long adventures with a family of 3, 4, 5 or 6. If you put some pads up on deck you can even invite your kids best friends along and in warm weather 8 people could sleep on this amazing little pocket cruiser.<br>The trailer is not included in this auction but it is for sale separately if you would like to buy the trailer also.
